U 7 Born on or after 1st Jan 2005

Instead of an U10 being 11 and 6 months when he finishes his U10 season, he will be 10 and 6 when he finishes the Season.

If the Season started in August like the older age groups like the U11s. He would be 10 and 8 months starting the season and 11 and 6 months when his season ends. This applies up the line with the 16s going into U18 football and the 15s going into U17. The age group losing out will be the 17s who now move into Junior soccer without the benifit of another year in youth soccer.

The FAI have ruled that we must bring this rule in from 2011/12 and the word is the Junior League are looking at starting an U19 League.
