Eh,can't complain about playing centre back. I played there all my life until we won the 14's cup then i slowly moved up the pitch! I'd enjoy playing there Sunday Niall, could bag 4 or 5 OG's haha
I would not recommend that you make comments like that Gaz, Niall does not like the defence conceding and if by chance you did score an og, you would be a marked man. In more ways than one.

As most people know by now, Mick O'Brien is going to the Lebannon in a few weeks time. I would like to thank him for the job he has done managing the juniors and wish him a safe stay in the Leb. Hopefully he will get special permission from the army to come home a bit early for the 3A cup final towards the end of the season!
Mark Noonan has very kindly agreed to take over the team once again and I would like to thank him for this. He answered the call when asked as I knew he would. To the players I would say continue doing what we have been doing. At the end of the day its us who have to perform out on the pitch no matter who is standing on the sideline. We all know Mark well. He was only managing us 4 months ago so there is minimal disruption here.
Gaz, you are a funny man. We will see how you score 4 or 5 from centre half............a few players missing on sunday......who knows where you will be playing.........if you are playing!! As regards 2 o clock kick off. Last weeks match was at 2 also and i thought you still looked asleep!!!

Oh no need to worry Nial I'm still here... Just been trying to think about how many goals I'll get Sunday. I'm thinking 4 or 5 what do you think Niall?haha and the match isn't on early either so i can sleep in too!
Another one making predictions. They can haunt a guy. Thats 8 you forecast and you got nothing the last day out, Gaz

Ken with the comments flying in now i think my work here is done.
Thomas you walked into that one. Where is Gaz????????? Shane you have me to thank for your exemplary disciplinary record. Sure i took a good few yellows for you over the years!! Im ok with that though...
Darren,Danny, Liam are very quiet.......

Ah now Tom, giving frees away for foul language isn't a normal referee decision. Despite my crude tongue, I did manage to stay on the field for the full 90 mins!! You got as many yellow cards in the last 2 games than I've gotten in 20 years of playing!!
Am I the scapegoat so for Victor running AWOL?? Liam and Plunk were in the car with me that day, maybe they turned him away??

Shane giving away free kicks Tom!!!!!I'll LOL that...I heard next week we have 2 referees 1 for the match, and 1 for you!!

typical from our captain fantastic shane he goes from leaving comments and text messages that would rival W.Shakespeare to giving away free kicks for foul language...........LOL

I dont know Ken. More likely Shane was talking his usual banter the whole way out and Victor said to hell with this!!
Only messing Shane.........
Unlucky today lads. Another narrow 1-0 defeat against a team from 1B. We have acquitted ourselves very well in the fai and munster junior cups. Two 1-0 defeats and unlucky in both. Most important thing now is to keep up the good form against Newport next week. A lot to play for yet in the league.

This is more like it lads. A few comments is all we want. A bit of friendly banter is good in the club.I see you figured out how to leave a comment Thomas. Keep them coming now. Might be some truth in what you say there. All I know anyway is I brought Victor to all the matches and there was no problem with him. Then last sunday Shane decides to pick him up. 2 days later he is gone??
Are you telling me that we have a Star Rovers recruiter in our ranks Niall.

The young people today eh??? Full of confidence. Gaz you know now that you have only heaped the pressure on yourself......i didnt realise you were lacking in attention......i will have to mark you so in training next week and give you some extra special attention!! Poor old Pa needs the attention. Goals have dried up for him a bit this year!!! His confidence is shattered......Thanks for the comment Gaz and good to have a committed young player in the team. Pa. You will need to respond i think.

Mr. Chairman, I've logged in especially to leave a comment and give Ken something to post up. I agree we had a great performance on Sunday. Castle were definitely happy to hear the full time whistle. Even when we were down to 10 men after an hour, we still matched them for the last half hour. Hopefully we can maintain such a performance against Hospital on Sunday. I hear through the grapevine a couple of our players have gone to new pastures. We have a great squad to minimise the loss of such players. It gives the fringes players a great chance to cement their place in the first 11. Looking forward to the home game on Sunday. The FAI and Munster cups are always a chance to learn from the teams above us and to give them a good tough game! I'd also like to thank Mick for his huge effort in pre-season and the opening games of the league. He has set the foundation for us to move on and push for a real challenge in the league and cups. Best of luck on your travels!
I was sure you had gone on a trip Shane, its so long since you posted a comment

Good to hear Jordan is back. He was a bigger danger to himself on those crutches anyway!! Safer in goals.....
Lads, An odd comment up here would be nice every now and then. If everyone logged in even once a week and commented on their match or something related to the club it would at least show some interest. We have a fantastic website but why should Ken put in such an effort with no feedback from members? Its not too much to ask surely.
Have to agree with you Niall, checking the submitted mail each day is depressing. The odd comment would wake some lads up. Even Mattie now and again and with Luton still in the conference he has nothing to talk about.

Juniors can consider themselves unlucky yesterday. We were missing 4 players who started against Coonagh last week and yet were very unlucky to lose 1-0 to Castle Rovers in the FAI Cup. Supposedly they were on facebook before the match saying they only had to turn up. Well they were hanging on for dear life at end of 90 minutes and they were damn glad to hear that whistle. The ref had a shocker from our point of view so all in all it was a gallant effort. Well done to all the players who put in a huge effort yesterday.
We also got news that Jordan Kelly has got the all clear and should be back playing shortly. Well done to all.

I can confirm it was Danny Lynam who scored that night and not Pa O Neill.Maybe now Danny can get some sleep.Good man the Dan!!
It is early in the season for this, but Mike your text said that Pa ONeill had scored, the Leader had Pa down as scoring as well as the Club notes. But to ensure that Danny sleeps well at night I will make the change.

Lads,
Any comments??? Come on will ye. There should be plenty to say with all our teams getting off to great starts in their respective leagues.
Ken. The first controversy involves Danny Lynam claiming he scored in the first match of the season and not Pa O'Neill. I played in this match but dont want to get involved. Maybe Mick will confirm for us who scored the third goal that night.
Great start for the Juniors. Best start I can recall for many years. No reason why it should not continue and why we cant compete for league and cup honours this year. 5-1 win tonight against an indisciplined St Pauls was a vital result and has set us up nicely for the local derby with Coonagh on sunday.
15s look a real force in their league already and the 16s seem to be scoring for fun too. 14s should be looking to win a second successive league title and maybe even a second successive double. 13s and 12s back in action too and putting in good effort.
